Hello ladies and gentlemen, your pal Muldoon here with this week's SATURDAY SHORTS selection. I love genre blocks, absolutely dig 'em and like letting folks know what they're in for before clicking the title to hop on in. That said, this week is packed with all sorts of random genres, but it's absolutely filled with a quality that's obvious. I truly think this is one of the strongest SATURDAY SHORTS so far and hope you think so as well. As always, I'm incredibly lucky to get to see so many different films created by so many different people each with their own style. I think there are some true masters in today's selection, so if you tend to skip some or hop around, today's the day I'd strongly suggest you give each one a shot. Go ahead and full screen these films, turn up the volume and strap on in - you'll be taken all over the world and dropped into some really amazing stories.

To really kick things off with a bang we have an incredible film from one of the most prolific Special Effects men in the industry, Dave Roddham. Occasionally I'll get a short that several people will message me about asking "Hey, have you seen this amazing short?" Sure, you could easily get a few pals to shoot an email in to generate a buzz, but with this film - I trult don't think that's the case. This film has been on my radar a lot lately and you can see why. It's incredibly well built an excellent pace, sound design, and beautifully designed shots from cinematographer Stephen Murphy. Check out the film's making of HERE. And on that note, congratulations to Dave for recently signing with Anthony Mestriner of Casarotto Ramsay & Associates Limited and Ari Lubet of Anonymous Content. This is one hell of a short.

Here's a film I've had in my back pocket for way too long. This is yet another damn fine film, this time from Jonathan Reid-Edwards (@JonReidEdwards). It's won all sorts of fancy awards from all over the festival circuit and deservedly so.
The Hadley TK-421 is here to revolutionize the work place. A black comedy set in 1960s London, it’s the kind of short you don’t see often. More than just a punchline, and with a particular sensibility on a very low budget, you’ll wonder where you can get your hands on a Hadley once you’ve seen one in action.
GHILD

From David Yarovesky, we have GHILD - a highly stylized and incredibly enjoyable film starring the ever-so-awesome Michael Rosenbaum and Harland Williams. This is a fun flick that's absolutely worth your time to watch.
Story of an Abnormal Giant Child called a Ghild who is just trying to come to terms that he has no friends.
HEART OF COPPOLA

I'm sure by now most of you folks have seen or heard of this short and my apologies for not screening it earlier (I've had this one for a few months - I'm just backed up with so many shorts, some get held off - excuses, yes). But here's a celebration of the mad genius of a certain Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece. From Brian Carroll comes "A mix of Orson Welles' reading of Heart of Darkness, Apocalypse Now and the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse."
MORT IN HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

To close out this week, we have a deliciously twisted animated short from Ron Noble, of Noble Town. Check out his site, it's got loads of fun stuff. Today Ron shares with us the story of Mort, a sad, sad man who just can't do anything right. (You'll see...) The story works, but the animation is stellar - I can't help but dig it all.
And there we have it, this week's selection. I hope you guys and gals got a kick out of them. There's some legit talent here (as always though in my humble opinion), so I hope you had the time to give them all a shot, even though their running time adds up to a decent chunk. But hey, in the mood for mas shorts? Bam!:
