Hey folks, Harry here with a scoop from our buddy Denmon, who was lucky enought to see the new X-MEN trailer, and has commented mightily upon it. I have heard from others that were at this event, by phone, that saw this trailer... and it was an unanimous decision that this new trailer is hands down the best trailer for any summer movie this year. Apparently, this trailer will kick your ass hard. The overall feeling is that while the movie may have the problems of not being EXACTLY WHAT WAS IN THE COMIC BOOK.... for those that have never read the comic book, it will simply be a very good movie. And I did talk to both types. X-MEN fans and non-fans. They dug this trailer, which I assume will probably be going out to attach with prints of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2 and the other hardcore action films in the next couple of weeks. Here's the breakdown of the trailer... if you don't want to know... don't read...
Hi Harry. Love the site! Anyway I saw the 3rd trailer for the X-Men today and put it all up on my site.
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!
In every person...there exists...the genetic potential...for mutation...
This was by far the best trailer I have seen. It is FILLED with Special effects shots. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics, but there were video cameras, and other people had cameras, so maybe. But since it was on a projector, they might not be very good pics.
What you will see:
SPOILERS!!!!!
Mystique sitting across from Senator Kelly in his jet, as someone else, then slowly transforming back to Mystique. She kinda morphs with regards to her body. Hard to explain, but it's sorta like the suit melts to form her body. The effect is SO cool. Kinda bleeds down her body kinda slow, but it's sweet!
Remember the scene where Toad runs up the side of the wall behind Cyclops in that museum or wherever? Well this goes further. When Toad turns around, his tongue comes out, grabs Cyclops' visor, rips it off, pulling his head back at the same time, and ZARRRK...takes out the roof of the building!!!! MAJOR OPTIC BLAST HERE, and SO COOL!!! It's big and wide and follows the motion of his head.
The old scene in the first teaser where Wolverine has been thrown off the Statue of Liberty has been redone (I hated the first one so bad). Now he lands better and the effect is much better. See below as to why and how.
You see Rogue walking around that same building where Toad and Cyclops have their thing, not much there, but it's this picture. The building is the same as where Cyclops and Toad fight...well it wasn't actually a fight...
You do get to see Rogue absorbing Wolverine and that was cool. She's holding him TIGHT by his upper arms and she looks kinda fierce!
Magneto you see a lot more of. You see him flying above New York, sorta spiraling, and very powerful looking, and yes it does look good! The sound was kinda muffled so I didn't get a lot of the dialogue, but he talks a good bit in this trailer as does Professor X and Wolverine.
You see Sabretooth being shot out of the Statue of Liberty by Cyclops, and that HAD to hurt! It's a lot like in the storyboard and the shot is prolonged so you really see it.
You also see Wolverine being hurled WAY up in the air by Storm and then landing on the crown of the Statue and popping his claws! See that here.
You get to see the Blackbird flying out over the water in front of the Statue of Liberty and the windshield of the Blackbird has a red overlay that comes down as they approach. The Blackbird looks just like the comics, but better than the toy.
There is a scene where Wolverine talks to Rogue while she is in his lap I think. Right here.
You see Kitty Pryde running by Wolverine as he looks shocked when she runs through a closed door! (I missed that though).
There is a close-up of Magnetos feet as he walks across the bridge he is creating. Pretty neat effect.
There is a shot with that hologram of New York and now there is talking over it. Storm says, "He could destroy everyone and everything."
Those are the most important parts I remember. Overall If I could give a higher rating than an A+ I would. It was that intense.
