Not At Fantastic Fest 2010?? You May Be Able To See A Few of The Titles Playing There From The Comfort Of Your Own Home...

You may've noticed a bit of Fantastic Fest 2010 coverage appearing on the site over the last few weeks. While the fest is now underway, you don't necessarily have to be in attendance to appreciate a few of the films that are playing there. This press release will tell you how you may be able to find some movies (from both this year and last) on your local cable system. Personally, I think this is a pretty awesome idea and hope this notion continues to be explored and expanded in the future. Here are some details re: this year's TV line-up via a press release:

a select group of four exceptional genre films screening at the 2010 Fantastic Fest will simultaneously be available in 40 million homes - and virtually all major U.S. markets - nationwide via cable's movie on demand platform. The films are Simon Rumley's hard-core RED WHITE & BLUE; Philip Ridley's demonic thriller HEARTLESS (making its US debut); Abel Ferry's mountain climbing nightmare HIGH LANE (making its US debut); and Josh Reed's Ozploitation horror flick PRIMAL (making its US debut). --We'd like to particularly highlight Simon Rumley's RED WHITE & BLUE, a uniquely powerful thriller/slasher movie featuring smartly sophisticated storytelling and three protagonist characters who function as both the killer and the prey. Hard-edged and uncompromising, the film has already been compared to the works of such disparate filmmakers as Larry Clark and Sam Peckinpah. --Primordial nature runs amuck in an expertly-played slice of neo-Ozploitation called PRIMAL, from Australian director Josh Reed. A frenzied visceral nightmare in the vein of CABIN FEVER, PRIMAL is a hugely enjoyable rollercoaster ride through primitive panic. --Jim Sturgess(21, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE)leads a hugely-talented ensemble cast in HEARTLESS, a sublime British psychological thriller from cult UK director Philip Ridley (THE REFLECTING SKIN, THE PASSION OF DARKLY NOON), who returns to the screen after a 14-year absence. --Towering heights and beautiful vistas turn into a haunting mindtrip in Abel Ferry's gripping French scarefest HIGH LANE, a film that will definitely make you think twice about your next mountain climbing trip. PRIMAL director Josh Reed and RED WHITE & BLUE director Simon Rumley will be in attendance at Fantastic Fest screenings. RED WHITE & BLUE and HEARTLESS will also have select theatrical engagements nationwide in the fall. In addition, IFC Midnight will also make three acclaimed films from Fantastic Fest 2009 available on demand as part of this initiative including: Tom Six's THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE, Kim Ji-Woon's THE GOOD THE BAD THE WEIRD, and Jake West's DOGHOUSE. Beginning simultaneously with the start of Fantastic Fest, the films featured in "Direct From Fantastic Fest" partnership will be available on the movies-on-demand page of most major cable systems for 30 days, including Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner and Bright House, and will be available in approximately 40 million homes.
