It looks like the gooey parasite from "Spider-Man 3" might jump off Topher Grace and onto a bigger star. Sony commissioned a script by Jacob Estes (“Mean Creek”) for "Venom" but is apparently seeking a new writer to pursue a new direction following the explosive successes of Paramount’s “Iron Man” and Warner Bros.’ “The Dark Knight.” Hollywood vets have vivid recollections of “Venom” movies being developed long before the first big-screen “Spider-Man” production got underway.
