Vampire/Zombie book, ALREADY DEAD, headed to the big screen!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Charles Huston's ALREADY DEAD is a relatively new book (part 1 of a 5 part series... the second book, NO DOMINION, just came out) so I don't feel too bad in never hearing of it before the news hit that Mike DeLuca and Phoenix Pictures have snatched up the rights to make it a movie.

The plot synopsis reads more like a graphic novel or comic series than I thought it would, but that's not a bad thing. It sounds like a world that has gotten over a virus that turned people into vampires. In this world vampires and humans coexist, with few vampires running around in clans. It kind of sounds like they're diabetics or any other group that has to live with an illness. There's medication for it, etc. But that's an assumption on my part. The story focuses on a vampire P.I. who is hired by a socialite to track down her runaway daughter. Unfortunately, the victims of vampires begin to return to life... not as new vampires, but as zombies. Flesh-eating zombies. Pretty neat, if I say so myself. Scott Rosenberg (BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, CON AIR) is adapting the novel. I'm gonna have to pick up this series now...
