"Well, the death of his cousin (and Carter's involvement), sends shock waves through the family and you can expect Cater to be financially cut off from the family. To make ends meet, he's going to become an R.A, at a medical school nearby, where he'll meet his next romantic interest, a young medical student."

"This, of course, makes you wonder about Anna (Maria Bello) and whether or not she and Carter are going to finally hook up. The answer, for the time being, is NO. Apparently, by the time Anna realizes what most "E.R." fans already know (that they would make a great couple), it's too late and Carter's with the medical student. But don't count them out - there's too much chemistry for something not to happen, we'll just have to wait a while."

"Meanwhile, the romance between Benton (Eriq LaSalle) and Cordey (Alex Kingston) will continue to heat up - expect them to be seeing a lot of each other next year. Also, expect major plotlines concerning Benton's baby."
