LEGEND OF ZU Behind The Scenes Footage!!

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Kampbell-Kid sent us a great ZU scoop last week, and he's back with another. Enjoy the footage, folks. I still say I want to see this one and just enjoy it for what it is...

Hey call me Kampbell-Kid... thanks. :)

I sent a scoop to ya over The Legend Of Zu footage I ran across. It had links to trailer and pre-credits footage. Which followed later by reviews and talkbackers that trashed it's CGI. Well I agreed with alot of those opinions however... I have seen the film on VCD and I will tell you that if you liked the Storm Riders you will love this movie alot!!!! It's not a oscar contender folks it's simply a beautifully cheezy hong kong visual feast on hong kong production time and budget, NOT a hollywood one. The stunning computer-generated images are created using the Maya software package, which also helped create Disney's first computer-animated feature, Toy Story (1995). Like Harry said in his first Zu article... you either like this kind of films or don't. Anyway, I am proud to beholdith to you from www.ch5.tv a 17 minute behind the scenes documentary of The Legend Of Zu that I found. It is in Mandarin and subtitled in english. Now if this dosen't wet your puss to see this movie I don't know what will!! Enjoy :)

Oh yea and on a side note the US release date has been pushed TBA 2002 now. Also to all talkback assholes who trashed this cuz of the CGI I have to say this (in "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" style). Visual Effects supervisor for Legend Of Zu - Eddy Wong was quoted saying this from www.totallyhk.com. Check the quote below and it's not him saying he's the master of the clit.

"I know that many audiences still complain about Hong Kong's standard of computer-generated effects," Wong says. "But this is because of lack of investment and time. If we are given the same amount of money as Hollywood, I am sure Hong Kong could produce really high quality work. We are slowly getting there."

It kind of opens your mind towards HK films eh... However after you see the behind the scenes doc I do give them props for originality and CGI beauty even tho it's not in the style of many months of ILM post-production. I'm sure ILM can vouch for that in terms of low budget on a project or being rushed... ummm can we say the scorpion king monster from The Mummy Returns. Chao!

PS - My heart goes out to her and all the families of those in the plane crash with Aaliyah. She was young, sweet and gifted!!!
