Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
This is exciting news, but it comes from a totally unconfirmed source. I'm running this as a "rumor" only, and I'm going to start poking further into the matter. I don't know what I think of Mulcahy being attached to it as director, but I know there's a great movie in the material. Here's what BOWIE STYLE has to say...
I've got an interesting Tidbit of Information that some Old school comic book fans might be interested in. I have received some Kick ASS news from a source in New York. Director Russell Mulcahy (Highlander,Highlander2,The Shadow AKA The most underrated Comic Book film ever) has signed to a 3 picture deal with Dimension Films. Hopefully these will be Theatrical releases and not some straight to video crap (Like Mulcahy's last few films) Mulcahy is an incredible visual director and some of his work reminds me of Tim Burton just not as Strange.
It seems that the first of the 3 picture deal is An old comic strip adaptation known as "THE SPIRIT"!!!!! yes,! Will Eisner's classic Comic Strip is coming to the big screen. The story of a detective who is thought to be dead by all, He then sees that playing along with his death can help him fight crime. He soon becomes the Crime fighting hero known as THE SPIRIT! Set in the 1940s this should be an incredible film. Let's just hope Dimension does a better job promoting this film than Universal did with The Shadow. I'm convinced the Shitty promotion is what killed that film. Russell Mulcahy will write, produce and direct this feature. Hopefully it will hit screens before 2004. After killing and then raping The Crow franchise lets hope Dimension will be able to carry a Great Comic film series.
BOWIE STYLE
Anyone wanna lay bets that BOWIE STYLE is actually Mulcahy? I mean... did anyone else actually like THE SHADOW?
"Moriarty" out.
