Well I have to applaud the efforts of the GODZILLA.COM people. They really understand what to do. Daily pics, Weekly news updates. See wasn't that hard? Hollywood. Keep us up to date!!! Well here is more on what's on the Columbia/TriStar lot right now! From our spy aboard the X-1!!!!!
Have seen the following sets, props, etc. on the Columbia/TriStar lot for GOJIRA U.S.A., er, GODZILLA (misc. musings in parens):
SETS:
* Madison Square Garden ("Let's get ready to..." you know the rest)
* A cradle mock-up of the deck of a small boat (a fishing or tug boat?)
* A GIGANTIC green screen w/ green floor (to film live action plates w/ "guess-who" matted in) that takes up half a soundstage.
* An NY subway tube with the roof/street above caved in (by what I can't imagine...). This was very impressive, with at least one real subway car that I spotted, huge fake boulders, a concrete tube w/ escape ladder sitting outside. A major setting from the looks of it.
* What looks to be a stadium sports booth for int./ext. shots, with various product banners hanging beheath the windows. (The Japanese really love baseball, so it makes sense that the Green Guy would take in a Yankees game when ya think about it).
Vehicles spotted:
* 2 Humvees
* 1 smashed-to-hell NY taxi cab
Etc.:
* A few extras wearing Air Force jetfighter suits.
* And, COOLEST OF ALL... A big section of Godzilla's lower jaw. About 15 feet long, maybe more. Each tooth was very well done, kinda yellowed -- not the pristine Godzilla teeth we're used to -- instead, these kinda curved back a little and had jagged, irregular (but still sharp!) tips, esp. the molars.
Overall, cool-looking stuff bespeaking of one major-scaled monster movie.

Oh bloody hell, LO WANG is flying the X-1. He'll kill us all. Where is Egg Shen when you really need him. I want some of that drink he has, then I'll shoot down that evil Lo Wang fella!!!
