Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Not really a major story here, but more of an interesting footnote about, of all films, SUMMER CATCH. No, I haven't seen SUMMER CATCH yet. The pairing of Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr. doesn't exactly inspire me to rush out and fistfight my way into a press screening, to be honest. If this were, say, a Matt Damon/Ben Affleck movie, there might be a reason for me to be interested...
Oddly enough, it almost was. Turns out SUMMER CATCH started life over at Fox back in 1997, and Damon and Affleck were going to be the two leads. Bill Mechanic didn't think audiences would be interested in the pairing, though, since this was before the release of GOOD WILL HUNTING (but after the making of it), and the film got cut loose by the studio.
It's all about timing, isn't it?
"Moriarty" out.
