Please someone tell me this ain't true!!!! I'm in mortal agony. Please no cute CGI creatures... please... no.... Not in a Star Trek film... I can see Data playing with it... no no no no... please... it can't be true.... that's impossible. Somebody set my mind at ease...
First time spy, call me Stryker if you must... anyway I have a little star trek 9 tid bit, I don't know if it's general knowledge already but... I was given a tour of BlueSky/VIFXs' L.A. office yesterday, where I saw some of the designs for the film.
Amongst some cool starship paintings there were the character designs for some very "cutesy" CGI creatures, how prominently they play into the film I don't know, but obviously, hollywood has learned nothing from the Ewoks.
Anyway, the best way to describe these stuffed-animals-to-be is that one looked like a cross between a worm and a sea-lion (how adorable) and the other was very humming bird like. Being a big fan of the darker tone of First Contact, I'm a little worried these precious little fellas may continue the gratouitous use of loveable CG creatures a la Lost in Space.
