Hey folks, Harry here... Personally this isn't a movie that I'm really looking forward to. I suppose if I have a good time with it, that's great, but... personally I feel that the first film should have stood alone. But, well Sequel sequel sequels... Joy. Sounds like they followed their formula pretty much by the numbers... Joy. Here ya go.
Hey Harry and folks... Glide here slippin in through the front door of a screening of American Pie 2...
The air began to cool as we stood in line on the Universal Lot in front of the Hitchcock theater Wendsday night. the anticapation of seeing this film for free had me all giddy and unable to contain my laughter as I saw some of the actors enter the theater doorway. I've been to a few screenings before but none of the actors were ever present. It added to the coolness in the air...
The chairs in the theater were the comfyist I have ever sat in and was second row center noticing there were no cup holders...
They sold no food or concessions as well but who cares about that???
On with my review of American Pie 2...
All of the principal actors and most of the supporting characters return for this much hyped sequal to the '99 surprise hit, American Pie. Unfortunatly the inability to be surprised with what I was seeing, affected the shock value of what will probably be another hit for Universal. They had, for this screening, invited half the cast and a ton of suits to witness this movie with an audience.
The plot of the film...
The kids are out of college for the summer after one year from the original. They decide to rent a house on the lake to party, get laid and have the most memorable summer time of their lives. Together they get a job painting houses and decide that a huge party would be what brings them the happiness they feel is missing since leaving high school. Sexual excapades insue...
I'm not giving too much away about the story or the jokes because they should be seen, all the jokes are visual and would be pointless to read them.
The structure of the film follows the exact pattern of the first, an opening sight gag, a party to kick off, Jim trying to get laid, Stifler acting crazy and finding laughs, etc...
My overall feelings after leaving the film were positive, they don't break any new ground but they know that and are offering a sequal to a film where a guys screws a pie for cribs sake... I did laugh alot, I smiled at the scenes in between laughing out loud and it ended the way it should have. So I did enjoy it.
The film ended and there were no forms to fill out which was nice and jetted outside to smoke cigarettes with some of the cast and off to a pre-birthday evening with my special lady followed.
Hopefully I get too drunk that I cause some madness and mayhem here in LA, Just swerve if you see me walking in the streets, I only turn 24 once in my life...
This was glide, goin out the way I came in...
