Sigh... Harry here. I've been hearing all types of disturbing news on ROLLERBALL recently. One, I hear the addle-minded executives at MGM are toying with cutting the film to PG-13 to "maximize profitability" (which means cutting that full frontal Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, and a total absence of gore) which basically eliminates any reason to even see McTiernan's version. And instead... they're going to reshoot the ending. (Ahem... it's gonna take a shitload more than that!)
Personally, If I were MGM, I would take any and all money that they would spend trying to save this turd, and instead put it into the marketing campaign for JEEPERS CREEPERS, a genuine hit waiting to happen if they put any energy into the campaign at all. The trailers they have now make it look like crap, and the film is FANTASTIC! Stop polishing the turd, polish the Porsche you idiots!
i hear through some good sources that the ending of rollerball will be reshot in NYC. ending did not test well, McTiernan wants to fix it.
