OK Horror film freaks, Father Geek here with a report on what ol' Wes Craven has been up to... Check it out...
After the Scream trilogy some people started feeling like Wes Craven had lost his touch. Fantasy horror is his home and he should not be meddling around in teen slasher flicks. Though I actually liked the first Scream film and some of the stuff he did in the others I have hopefully a breath of fresh air for fans that didn't.
Wes is retuning to what he dose best. Do you all remember American McGee's Alice? That very sweet PC game that came out last year. Well some one decided it would make a great film so Wes Craven's Dark Wonderland is in pre production! Here are the people that I know are involved with it so far.
The screenplay is being written by John August of Titan: A.E., the composer's Marco Beltrami of the Scream trilogy, and it's being produced by American McGee among lots of other people. Wes is of coarse directing but also one of the executive producers. Natalie Portman has inquired about the film. Which role she's asking about I do not know but can guess. Dimension Films is making the film. And I think that's good. New Line on a good day would also be nice but I'm not complaining.
I just hope they get a good special effects team and maybe an R rating. I have never been completely doubt less about a video/computer game turned movie not being crap. But this puppy might just brake the cycle! Anyway hope you find this informative enough to post
Sincerely.
