Horror films update

A follow up on the Horror posting of last time. This time it comes in from Nomad the killer robot...

Just saw Steh Gecko's schtuff on your latest update. SOme of that stuff has been floating around the forums for over a week.

An addition to Piranah...it was purchased by Zenga I believe. Ironically, this will actually be the THIRD remake. A tv movie was done that is officially considred a remake. I have not seen the remake, so I cannot attest to it's coolness or it's crappyness.

RE Carrie 2...I THINK you announced this before, but Amy Irving is playing Sue again (Amy rocks...she has one of the best voices IMHO...kind of one of those swingy, jazzy type voices). I think Jason London is also in it. I have not read the script, and I don't know if this movie will do well. It's been done by Rafael Moreu (Hackers) and Howard Rodman (he did Coogan's Bluff I think, and some other stuff I can't remember). Paul Monash is producing, which is a good sign. I just hope he keeps in in the original style, as he's one of the few from the original on the current crew. I belive it started filming a week or two ago, although they could be finishing prepro yet.

For Dead of Night, Tiziano Sclavi (the writer of the comic it's based off of) also deserves his writing credit (which he will probably get...how involved he was I have no clue). Scott Rosenberg is one of the producers (he was one of the many ConAir writers, also Things To DO In Denver When You're Dead, etc) as well as newcomer Ervin Rustemagic.

IKWYDLS 2 is in prepro. I mentioned on the forum that Jeffrey Combs is in the film (er will be) and says he plays some type of rogueish guy...his forte. ;) If you don't know who Jeff is, he plays Weyoun on ST:DS9. Also appearing in IKWYDLS 2 is Brandy Norwood (Moesha etc), Matt Settle (JLA!!! He played Green Lantern, etc), Mekhi Phiver (sp?)(Soul Food, High School High, CLockers, etc), Jenny Esposito from Spin City etc, and Muse Watson (Texas Blood Money, IKWYDLS 1, Assassins, American Gothic etc).

The Stephen King project looks interesting. Last I heard tho, Craig Baxley was directing. He's done quite a few productions. Tim Daly and Deb Farentino are the leads. Colm Feore and Casey Siemaszko support. Tom Brodek is the SP, with such folks as Stephen king himself and mark Carliner as the EPs, and Rob Phillips walking the line. It's being produced by Rainfall, which has done nothing else to my knowledge. It's being filmed in Maine of course, as well as Toronto.

That is all I know at current.
