Our long time Asian spy, Ye Meng, has turned in to ol' Father Geek a little info on several high profile flicks... Check it out below...
Ye is back after a long silence.
Zu 3
Tsui Hark is considering the third Zu movie according to Hong Kong's ATV and his favored candidate for the female lead is Wang Tsu-Hsien (joey). The film will start to be released on August 9th in Hong Kong and the rest of Asia. It will very likely go to North American around the Christmas. Just go to MonkeyPeaches (http://www.geocities.com/monkeypeaches/) for some new pix and here is a very very small teaser from the official site: http://www.chinastar.com/microsite/zu/p1/zu_03.html and here is a poster: http://www.geocities.com/monkeypeaches/ZuPoster.jpg.
Heroes
Leung Chiu-Wai (Tony), Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi are already aboard this upcoming film. Director Zhang Yimou is still working on nailing Jet Li as the lead. Shooting will start in July, most likely.
Summer Killers
In the newest Sammo Hung flick, he will play the masters the some "killers".
Unknown Vietnam War flick
There is a new Vietnam War film is in development. Chinese actor Hu Bing (http://photo.chinaren.com/88/15/Img145651588.jpg) is currently in talk for a role. One of the reasons he was spotted is that he got pretty good "American accent".
