PRIMETIME GLICK!! Talk Back!!

I am – Hercules!!

Martin Short, in loads of fat makeup, revives one of the best elements of his defunct chatshow. Celebrity interviewer Jiminy Glick is one-quarter Ed Grimley, one-quarter Rex Reed, one-quarter Raymond Burr, one-quarter Sam Rubin, and 100 percent grotesque hilarity.

Steve Martin and Bill Maher are his first guests.

It's very funny. I think my favorite part was when Glick couldn't stop eating even as he was choking to death.

For those on the West Coast, it airs 10:30 p.m. on Comedy Central, right after the "shit" episode of "South Park."

What does TV Guide say?

Debut: Martin Short plays interviewer-to-the-stars Jiminy Glick in a spoof of late-night talk shows. Glick, a character first introduced on the Martin Short Show, was conceived as “a way to satirize...what I was doing on the show anyway, which was interviewing celebrities,” says Short. Now that Glick has his own show, his gross incompetence and clueless confidence shine in conversations with various celebs. There's also an opening monologue by Glick that usually involves bandleader Adrien Van Voorhees (Michael McKean), plus commercial and movie parodies featuring other characters. In the clever opener, which includes a send-up of The Tom Green Show, Steve Martin and Bill Maher are the guests.

Next week: Jerry Seinfeld and Dennis Miller.
