BAD TROUT and JENNIFER MURDLEY'S TOAD!!!

Folks, I've got some terrible news. It looks like BAD TROUT is being pulled the plug on. This sucks. THIS SUCKS... Listen you Dreamworks people, your film is about 1000X cooler than Mr Limpet. Trust me, I've read both scripts and BAD TROUT is one of the coolest damn films ever thunked up. Don't you dare cancel this film. When I did my poll about what projects my readers were interested in, BAD TROUT was in the top 5. And that's just from a few blurbs on this pittily ass little site. It's a story that must be told. DO IT!!!! PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Bad Trout is now dead again. Plug was pulled. Picture is on indefinite hold as of yesterday.

It would have been weird to have two talking fish movies released in the same year (The other film being Mr. Limpett, which is stll a "go.")

Then I got this letter a couple of days ago from Lorenzo Lamas' Smarter Brother about a couple of Dreamworks animal projects including BAD TROUT....

"Lorenzo Lamas' Smarter Brother" here with some Dreamworks info.

As you probably know, Dreamworks has had success with animal pictures. Mousehunt did very well and Paulie is doin well too. Paulie looks to end up somewhere around 24-30 which is great considering it cost only 11 million to make. Dreamworks wants to continue it's animal series with a sequel to Mousehunt and possibly Paulie and two movies called "Bad Trout" and "Jennifer Murdley's Toad". I didn't get much info on Bad Trout but I did hear it is being helmed by Robert Zemekis and Speilberg will Executive Produce. It's about, I believe, insane CGI fish. Jennifer Murdleya Toad is based on the book of the same name. It's about an unpopular overweight girl who buys a talking toad with a 'tude from a magic shop. The toad has many secrets including the fact that there is a treasure buried in his forehead.

THere are evil witches, talking cats, prissy princesses and it has the potential for some cool effects. I've read the book and the script and it could easily turn into a cool movie, unless Dreamworks takes a "Family" approach to it. Joe Dante has expressed interest in directing. It's part of a 2 movie deal with author Bruce Coville-The other movie will probably be "My Teacher is an alien" his most popular book. That's all I know; I'm eager to get my hands on the Bad Trout script though.

See ya,

Lorenzo Lamas' Smarter Brother
