Hey folks, Harry here... Just got word that Peter Hyams' THE MUSKETEER,
which Universal Pictures has picked up for distribution, has a release date
for you folks to mark down on your calendars... September 7th, 2001...
Right now, its sole competition on the seventh is THE GLASS HOUSE... an
interesting looking thriller starring Leelee Sobieski, Diane Lane and the
wonderful Stellan Skarsgård. The trailer is actually pretty nice, and Stellan can be creepy and scary as hell... Here's the Trailer for THE GLASS HOUSE...
Now, having pointed you at that... I know for a fact that as soon as you see the first trailer for THE MUSKETEER... you'll cream your jeans... I saw a RoughCut of the Film over a month ago and quite frankly at the time... it had very very few problems... the tiny sorts that get fixed once screened before an audience. And then there were those damn action scenes.... I just saw Tsui Hark's TIME AND TIDE two nights ago, and the last 45 minutes are solid Hong Kong action... It winds up making the film unbalanced as hell. In Hyams' MUSKETEER, the action is from one end to another with the great dose of character and story between. I can't wait to see the trailer. There is no way Universal can cut a bad trailer out of this film. Ok... best not to jinx it... there can always be a bad trailer, but they'd really have to work hard at it. With the film hitting September 7th, Universal has got to be planning on putting the trailer all over the JURASSIC PARK 3 prints... Don't know if we'll see it before then though...
