Hey folks, Harry here. If you have been following the years of rumors regarding a 4th GEORGE ROMERO Zombie epic, then you might remember an interview a long time ago with Romero in some magazine (memory fails) where George stated that he wanted to treat the Zombies like the poor or the homeless... their bodies have continued to decay... Their muscles atrophy... and suddenly they become those things on the sidewalk you walk around, step over and all around abuse and ignore. I remember this concept fascinating me at the time and when all the word came out about him actually working on this... Savini mentioned to me the other day that last he heard, George was around page 60 or so in the script.... HOW MUCH WOULD YOU GIVE TO LOOK AT THAT? As for the second rumor on here... Savini was asked at this convention about the possibility of Sex Machine appearing in film again. He responded with my name and that I had written a SEX MACHINE screenplay or treatment. This is true. Robert Rodriguez and I were talking one night before either of the Direct To Video FROM DUSK TIL DAWN films were made, but the subjects were chosen... and I said to Robert that I felt they were going with the wrong characters, if I were doing it, I wouldn't focus on the vampires, I'd focus on either Fred Williamson's character or SEX MACHINE (aka Tom Savini) Robert then said, "Write it up and if the two DUSKS videos sell, we'll need something to shoot next!" I wrote the script, got it back to Robert... had some notes for the second draft, but quite honestly the site really started taking off and I've been busy doing this day in and day out and not finishing the 2nd Draft... and I've always stated that I'd love to make a film some day... about 8 years from now... The site is always my first priority though. Details... It takes place before the first film, and tells us why Sex Machine is in the Titty Twister drinking away. Think of it as a WILD BUNCH for Bikers in a Universe where really messed up things happen. BUT... I would classify this project as dead in the meanwhile, till I get back to it... and even then, there's no telling if it would ever be made. After all, I'm just an internet punk kid... right?
This may not be anything you don't know but Romero and Savini we're in town today for wonderfest and they participated in a question and answer session. Romero was asked about Twilight of the dead and he said he did'nt know how that title got started but he was working on a script for the next Zombie flick in the series. When he was pressed for details he said "it would involve people ignoring the problem. What does that mean, well people would live in little anclaves and zombies would be sort of like the homeless." That was'nt an exact quote but pretty close.
They also told some funny stories about working on dawn of the dead, like how the zombies would hang out in a bar in the mall in full make up. They also said that a senior citizen group ran into a huge group of zombies they had storming through the mall early one morning.
Savini sorta plugged this site when someone asked if sex machine would ever make a return. Savini said he had spoken to harry knowles of aint it cool.com about that. I beleive he even said you had written or had a treatment for his return.
