Hey folks, Harry here... We've had about 4 AICN Reports on Disney's BROTHER BEAR now, and it is a very interesting project and story... However, Sir Etch-A-Sketch's critique of the advance recordings of Phil Collins' songs for BROTHER BEAR left quite a bit to be desired... But... well almost all the songs for KINGDOM OF THE SUN/THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE changed over a similar time frame so perhaps they'll improve. Joaquin Phoenix is a great choice for a disgruntled vengeful brother voice... I don't know why I said that, but I really do think that goes without saying. Read up....
I was reading through the "Brother Bear" articles, and about all the speculation of how old they would be drawing the brothers. Well, just wanted to add this to your factoring. Back in February, JOAQUIN PHOENIX told Liz Smith (of the NY Post) that he would be voicing the younger of the two:
"Oh, but forget the Oscar nomination. The real pinnacle is that I'm playing an animated character in a Disney film. Isn't that the greatest? I play a native American transformed into a bear. It's called 'The Bears.' Don't call me a leading man. I don't care about that. I'm a leading bear. I am content!"
