Tom DeSanto Not On X-MEN 2!!!

Well... Harry here... and here we go... Let the shitstorm commence. After the last story about the Human - Sentinels story broke, I was contacted by another wave of folks involved in production... Some denying that there were scripts, but apparently there are treatments... story ideas floating around being developed by Zak Penn.... and David Hayter... However... the question in my mind all along has been how on Earth a story treatment could even be developed with X-MEN 2 that sounded as wrong and out of sync with the original material as Human Sentinels. Well... I have the answer. The soul of X-MEN seems to be no longer associated with the project. Tom DeSanto seems to not yet be onboard the project and it seems that in a battle of egos... the person that most gets and understands the X-MEN is being kept out of the production by egos and politics. I contacted Tom DeSanto to try and comment on this, and all he would talk to me about was his excitement about BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, which he is currently working on and ecstatic about. Apparently he's found the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA model... and "It's 3 days from shooting condition!" At this point it is looking like Tom is going to shoot Galactica as Models predominately and not as CGI... but that is still all being worked out! MODELS!!! YES!!!! And the original Galactica may take part! YES! But Tom would not confirm nor deny any level of involvement in X-MEN 2... so whatever is going on, well Tom doesn't want to talk about it on or off the record.

But that's why we have spies at Fox and in Donner's offices and involved in production! The following spy is closer to the production than most would realize, but in a weird abstract cool as all hell way. But what he has to say is scary... Tom DeSanto not being involved in these films would be the worst frickin thing FOX could do! For anyone that covered the first film, Tom was on set the entire time... he's the guy that originally brought Bryan Singer on board... He's the one that at conventions could out reference the biggest fans... He was the fans' man in Production, but from what we're hearing... and from his own silence... it sounds like it is time that we be heard.

I was just talking to a friend of mine in the industry

We talked about the two top-secret treatments going around. They sounded to be the same you reviewed on your site. This is when he told me that as of now, Tom DeSanto is not involved with the production of Xmen2 and had nothing to do with the treatments out now. WHAT??? Most people know Tom Desanto is the biggest Xmen fan in the production.

Here's the problem. Tom wants to be involved badly, but since he did so much work on the first one and was only given an executive producer credit, this time he rightfully wants a producer credit. Lauren Schuller-Donner(spelling?) apparently wants sole producer credit, even though she would randomly show up to the set, didn't go to the premiere, and made it known she thought the movie would flop. Bryan Singer wants Tom. The production wants Tom. We all want Tom. Tom loves XMEN and REALLY wants to work on it but its the principle of the matter I guess. (I've met him several times, and he has been a constant supporter and lover of XMEN. He fought for the cool deleted scenes. He fought to make it a cool movie. I think he deserves what he wants. But the studio/Donner will only give him Executive Producer credit.

Anyways, my friend who gave me this info ordered me to get on the internet and give you this news. He wanted to know what the fans would think about Tom DeSanto not being involved with the production. Hopefully some pissed off fans will let the studio know that Tom Desanto is a much needed man in the production
