Sci Fi version of Homer's ODYSSEY'

In the land called FRANCE, it seems the evil master of illusion MYSTERIO is at work gathering information for us (you and me). I guess those poundings at the fists of that brat of a teenager that wears pajamas was just too much. So he reports about a project that Canal + bought the rights to. If memory serves Canal + produced STARGATE, and does do mass market films from time to time. So let's take a gander at what they bought now shant we....

Now, down to business. As part of my job, I have to read European business newspapers everyday and now and then I come across something that might interest you.

According to the French newspaper "La Tribune", the French movie studio Canal + have just bought the rights to the sci-fi cartoon series "Ulysse 31" (Ulysses 31) to turn into a live action picture. Ulysses 31 was a sci-fi cartoon version of Homer's "Odyssey" (Ulysses is the Roman name for Odysseus who is the hero of the Odyssey, but I guess you knew that!). I don't know if you've seen it in the states but it was shown over here in the UK during the 80's. It had some of the best designs for space ships in it and every week Ulysses had to do battle with one of the Greek gods who seem to live in this other galaxy. No word yet on casting or a release date. Take it easy.
