Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Whenever I think of Bernie Wrightson, the first thing I think is "good family man."
The second thing I think is "one seriously creepy artist."
See, anytime Frank Darabont's shooting anything, I run into Bernie on the set. It's inevitable. Half the time, he's there with his son. There's something really cool about the way Bernie hangs out and lets his kids soak up the atmosphere on a set. He's also one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to talk to, totally approachable, and without a trace of ego about how incredibly brilliant he is.
It always blows my mind that someone so staid and normal on the outside can turn out such consistently brilliant visions of terror, but anyone who's seen his FRANKENSTEIN work or his brilliant run of SWAMP THING or any of a hundred other remarkable works of his can attest to the fact that this guy is dark. Who better, then, to design the new GHOST RIDER? What is alleged to be some of the design work has slipped out as part of an online-auction, and if you want a peek, you should try:
HERE!
OR HERE!
OR EVEN HERE!
OR MAYBE HERE!
OR MAYBE EVEN HERE!
OR EVEN MAYBE HERE!
THEN AGAIN, YOU COULD ALWAYS TRY HERE!
OR JUST GO HERE!
Is this the real deal? Could very well be. It's definitely Wrightson. We've got calls in to verify whether or not this is actually from the upcoming film. Either way, a big thanks to Agent Moo Goo Gai Pan, who originally pointed these designs out. In the meantime, it's never a bad thing to enjoy a little Wrightson art.
"Moriarty" out.
