Hey folks, Harry here.... Yesterday i was so caught up with the excitement of liking THE MUMMY RETURNS, that it completely slipped my mind that I had seen the JURASSIC PARK 3 trailer... It isn't a bad trailer... in fact at the time I saw it... I was saying under my breath, "Put this movie on NOW!" as I had no concept that MUMMY RETURNS was going to be as fun as it was. And afterwards, all I had on my mind was... MUMMYMUMMYMUMMYMUMMY.... so I wasn't even thinking straight... (Yes, I do act like a two year old at 5:1 scale) I like the cut of the trailer... the way it moves... the way it sets up characters and gives me the impression that this film is about survival.... BUT it didn't kick my ass. There were no great DINO shots that blew me away. Is it that moving dinosaurs no longer impress me? NO, that PBS BBC thing... WALKING WITH DINOSAURS kicked my ass like Matilda with the six inch high heels... All I can guess is that Spielberg or Johnston or Kennedy or someone creative didn't want to do a big Dino scene... only flashes... to tease us in... BECAUSE there is no way that the marketing department that cut the second trailer (FAST AND THE FURIOUS) cut the 1st trailer... The would have at least shown us that dactyl swooping down at us... I mean, according to Kathleen Kennedy, there are more cg dino shots in this film than in both JP1 and JP2 put together.... so they have shots... just not that they feel like showing us. We'll see soon enough... just a couple of months...
Hey not really news and I have no idea if the Teaser is on the net yet but: I went to see "Mummy Returns" and got a look at the new "Jurassic Park 3" trailer. Now for a scene by scene breakdown, I can't help you (Kill me! I'm Slow) Photographic Memory ain't my bag, but here's the "Feel" of the thang!
William H. Macy ask Sam Neil if he would like to visit Isla Sorna/Dino Island, of course if he (Neil) agrees, Macy will make sure he's compensated for his time through a generous donation.
Well cut to a plane with Macy, Tea Leoni, and Neil and some other people, the pilot says that they have found a place to land, Neil starts to freak out saying that "We can't land on the island" Macy assures Neil that "It's OK"
From there it was a bunch of cut's, from what I could make out, a Gigantic "Tail" hit the plane. Whoops! Who would have thought?
Footprint in the mud sound familiar? Well it's back, only this time they declare that it's not a T-Rex track, "It's Something Larger that a T-Rex"
Baby Dinosaurs suspended in liquid sound familiar? Yeah, didnt think so! Think Aliens meets the Matrix with a Dino twist. Seeing the Baby Dino's hooked up to wires in these Jars-O Liquid Tea Leoni ask "So this is how you make a Dinosaur?" Neil replies "No, this is how you play God"
Raptors you say? How about what seems to be Raptors that can "Communicate" according to Tea. Raptors that have funky head gear? Raptors that are supersmart? Get the picture?
Now enter the running and screaming shot's of the "Humans". "Humans" in a cage being submerged in water, a quick shot of the "Humans" out in a field of Unspecified Dinosaurs, Raptors Jumping, Raptors making their pupils contract into the camera, Raptors stepping on people. Sam Neil, any thoughts on these event? "Well, were not going to get out of here alive"-Neil
Cut to a Water Dino. You know like Loch Ness, only not.
To end, from the look's of things they should have stopped at 2, but no, 3 we will see. Maybe it was just me to hyped for "Mummy Returns" to care about this Trailer. The details are fuzzy, but you'll see it for yourself this weekend.
