Hey folks, Harry here... Well if ya can't afford those amazing SIDESHOW/WETA figures and sculptures, or even if you can, you'll probably get a set of these buggers too... And they look pretty darn good... especially for Toy Biz toys... There may be hope for a decent line afterall... Miracles can happen!
Harry,
This is Randy of ASK RANDY from ACTION FIGURE TIMES(www.aftimes.com). I'm a constant reader, infrequent Talkbacker and sender of letters to the Great Red-Headed One(though never posted... -sigh-)! Sorry to see the server's having problems-ain't technology a bitch? If only our livelihoods didn't depend on it!
Anyway, I saw your recent coverage of the cool-ass Sideshow Toy/WETA helmets and statues. Having seen them in person at Toy Fair this year, they are indeed wondrous. But I haven't seen anything about the actual toys, the action figures being done by Toy Biz.
Well, I guess I'll have to remedy that!
Here are the two "approved" figure photos for the Lurtz and the Ringwraith that have been released by Toy Biz, along with a close-up of the Lurtz's head. Not bad, huh? The human, hobbits and elves are also pretty darn cool looking too, though with various degrees of accuracy to the actors. I mean, this is Toy Biz, after all!
Unfortunately, I can't show you those other pictures yet. You know how particular companies and studios get when unapproved photos wind up on the net! But enjoy these and I'll get you more as I can.
And as always, thanks for the great site that I manage to waste hours of my life wandering through!
