Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Everyone loves to tell you when you’re wrong.
I mean, when we run a rumor here that ends up not happening, there is a GLEE... a particular JOY that people seem to derive from writing an e-mail to explain that we were wrong. Most of them sound like this:
”Dear Asshole, HAHAHAHA!! YOU SUCK! USE YOUR OWN NAME, STUPID!! YOU AND YOUR STUPID WEBSIGHT ARE GOING TO GO DOWN IN FLAMES NOW!! HAHAHAHAHA!! Signed, Lord Viper Scorpion.”
I received quite a few of these love letters back in December when I ran this story that said Peyton Reed, the director of BRING IT ON, was going to be the director of FANTASTIC FOUR for 20th Century Fox.
”NO,” you cried. “NEVER!!”
Ahem. Major Tom wrote in with the following bit of news tonight:
"Well, you evil genius, you said back on December 18th that Peyton Reed was the new director for "Fantastic Four," but this news was dismissed as false by most other movie websites.
It looks like you were right after all.
The June issue of Wizard magazine has a Marvel movie update from Marvel Films President Avi Arad who says of the film: "Now that Peyton Reed has signed on to direct, it's progressing."
(The mag also has an exclusive set visit to Spider-Man with a pic of Jameson, Parker, and Robbie in JJJ's office.)"
So there you go. Straight from Avi’s mouth. Truth be told, I’ve heard from a number of writers who were up for the job that Peyton was attached, so this doesn’t come as a surprise. I just wanted to point out that it’s now in print. I wish Peyton well, and I hope he comes up with a way to finally get Marvel's greatest family up onscreen. He's got the enthusiasm, which is half the battle, and now he's got the job!

Well, Harry here... I would just like to note, that if Peyton wants to do FANTASTIC FOUR right, go back to the first draft by Michael France of the FANTASTIC FOUR screenplay... have a Swedish doctor perform a sex operation on the collective running 20th Century Fox giving them the balls they so desperately need... and fully finance the FANTASTIC FOUR as it should be made!!!!!! Harry out!
