You ever get the sense that somewhere out there people are conspiring to get Kate Winslet into a musical? Well I do. And it ain't such a bad idea, she does have a lovely voice as demonstrated in HEAVENLY CREATURES!!!
Harry, The Mighty Nitsuj here, anyways, todays Daily Star in England is reporting that Kate Winslet has been asked to star alongside Antonio Banderas in The Phantom of the Opera, because Sarah Brightman, who starred in the original stage play, has been deemed to old.
Ok folks, I've been getting email for a LONG time about Batman 5. I've heard everything from Clint Eastwood as Batman in an adaptation of Frank Miller's famed issues, to that Paul Dini bit a while back. I've heard Clayface, Scarecrow, Harley, Joker, and on and on and on. I've heard Summer 1999, Summer 2000, Summer 2003. I've heard that Warners will never make another after the dreck they served last, to Warners is going to hire me to do it. I've heard just about everything. So when I got this, I just sort of shook my head, smiled and said, ya know... that ain't such a bad idea... me thinks. OK, you people out there in the shadow of the execs with tinkertoys left unplayed with due to their age difficulty, What's happening? In a grand world Warners would approach a Michael Bay, a Robert Rodriguez, a John McTiernan, a John Woo or just about any other SOLID action director, and pair him with a great design team. They'd have a straight forward and compelling script, that focused on BATMAN and allowed him to be a character. But this is Warners... and Warners is as Warners does, to coin a phrase from Forrest.... Here's the letter that got me to write this... It's from Shaggy the Pod Racer!!!!
Hey Harry....Just wanted to drope you a quick line and tell ya some coool info on Batman 5. It seems that the studio heads are getting desperate to revive the batman franchise.. My brother is one of the drones in the marketing dept. and they had him working on some single sheets for posters with Kurt Russel as.........(drum roll)...BATMAN.....and Jeff Goldblume as scarecrow. I think it sounds cool enough....but.....Scarecrow.....what about Harley Quinn..at least there was no mention of the boy blunder.. THATS ALL FOR NOW>>>KEEP ON TRUCKIN
