Hey folks, Harry here with a short report from the set of ROAD TO PERDITION... apparently Hanks has been hiding out in the woods avoiding authorities after Steve Martin fingered him in regards to the Crowe Conspiracy! Either that or he's out there shooting a film, here's Kilomaster with what was going on...
Dear Harry:
Call me: Kilomaster.
I'm a long time fan of the site and i'm finally proud to say that I have something to contribute. I live in Glenwood, a south suburb of Chicago. Last week Dreamworks was filming for their new film "Road To Perdition" in a forest preserve which is minutes away from my house. An entire section of our neighborhood was closed off for the shoot. The crew was at work for three days. I was able to see up close filming for a scene with Tom Hanks and a boy in a car.
The van that was pulling the car got stuck in the mud, so hanks and the boy had to get out of the car and they both waved at the onlooking crowd. Both actors were in 1930's garb, Hanks was wearing a trenchcoat and a nice hat, looking very much like a hitman, that he's supposed to be playing. Everyone there was excited to see Hanks of course, but I was more excited to see Sam Mendes at work and see how he directed the scene. I was able to drive through the section of woods that was closed off for those three days and huge blocks of ice were scattered all over, probably for some snow machines?
Also, a part of the forest was covered in white powder to make the trees appear to be covered with snow. I'm excited to see how the film will turn out, it sounds really interesting.
later Harry. --Kilomaster
