Greetings, animaniacs! ROBOGEEK here with a quick heads-up from an astute reader I'll call Hokuto No Ken.
He writes...
Just in time for AKIRA re-release, check out the teaser trailer of Katsuhiro Otomo's latest animation, METROPOLIS, which just went online at the official website, www.metropolis-movie.com
METROPOLIS (written by Otomo) is based on the 1949 manga by the late Tezuka "Astro Boy" Osamu [NOTE: not the Fritz Lang film], and is directed by Rintaro of "X/1999" (and who also directed several episodes of "Astro Boy" and "Kimba").
FYI, you can check out Osamu's original METROPOLIS manga online at THIS LINK.
The movie is set to be released in June of this year in Japan by Toho.
