The Great Thai Master contacted me with his scoop on Kate Winslet's next project, which has me pretty dang excited. Wow, it would be great to hear Chow singing a duet with Kate... no? Hee hee hee, just kidding, it's not a musical...
A while ago, Chow Yun-Fat revealed to Hong Kong press visiting him in LA that he is in talks with 20th Century Fox to reprise the role Yul Brynner made famous ages ago --- that of the King and The King and I. One of Hong Kong's tabloids went further today with a scoop today by announcing that Fox has entered into initial talks with Kate Winslet for the female lead. How true? We don't know, the tabloid has been both right and wrong with previous scoops concerning Asian stars in Hollywood. I do remember the "Fat" man joking to the press saying it's good that they don't plan to make the film into a musical so we won't be seeing Kate making vocal appearances in the soundtrack if this bit of news is true.
