ENTER THE FIST (Dubbed Action Movie) gets older than sushi in the desert after 10 minutes'

Hey folks, Harry here... given everything I've heard about this flick, this is the review that I've felt was going to be my reaction to this brain fart of a concept. Read and regret....

Harry,

Just wanted to chime in on the mess that was called Dubbed Action Movie.

First of all, I want to say that in theory, I was interested in seeing this movie. It seemed like a turbo charged MST3K. However, after about 10 minutes, the joke got old faster then sushi in the desert. The audience was into it at first, but sitting in the theater, one could hear the laughter petering out, became thin, people’s patience waned, and soon there were walkouts in droves.

The trouble with this particular piece is that it would work well as a Saturday Night Live skit, but as a movie, it’s a one note joke. A note so high and shrill that unless you are prepared to inject Novocain directly into your brain, it’s as pleasant as watching a Pauly Shore film festival.

It didn’t help that the studio chose to screen it in what is perhaps the worst theater in the entire orange County area. With so many other state of the art venues in the area, why studios keep screening stuff here is beyond me.

I can’t even tell you what a mistake it would be if the studio actually releases this junk on the unsuspecting public. Granted Steve Oedekerk has had success with “Nutty Professor” and “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls”, but let’s be honest folks, they were both sub-par at best. What was funny in those movies were most likely from Eddie Murphy’s adlibs more than Oedekerk’ s script, and Jim Carry can make anything fun. But here, left to his own devices, we see that Oedekerk is no Murphy. Had this movie been a vehicle for one of them, perhaps they could have made it worth my time. But I can’t see this going anything for Oedekerk’s but giving him the opportunity to work with Tom Arnold next go round and losing a good chunk of change to whoever put money behind this.

This movie will go on the same shelf as “It ’s Pat.” And “Mannequin 2: On the Move.”

Bottom line, I couldn’t imagine anything worse than this loathsome piece of crap, this movie couldn’t have sucked worse if it tried.

Josh
