hopefully my grumpiness will not come out on this film. i left john go home to shower and stuff for kitchen party (i guess he thought it was a party, not a film), but i was convinced that i would see 30 films this week, so i held out for one more while john left. under heaven was closest to where we were eating dinner, so i went to see that.
well the acting was actually not that bad. the story was not too bad either. i would not have been to disappointed to turn this on tv some day and watch it. well actually i guess the story did bother me as unrealistic. but at the same time, it deals with cancer, which i am dealing with in my family lately, so i saw that subject as a personal attack on my emotions (which i highly doubt it was).
this was one of the few films lately, especially at sxsw, that almost pushed me to tears. i could see this film making it big in art theaters, i just don't like what the plot stands for. but usually sappy films like this i do not like the ending, but i loved the ending of this one. so watch it for the end. that's all i have to say about this one.
