PLANET OF THE APES fights and SCOOBY DOO Locations!

Hey folks, Harry here... Just got back from my second screening in as many days of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK... God I love that film. Planning on going back to see it again tonight. Perfect Audience this Friday night at the Drafthouse, anyways... here are a couple of good stories about PLANET OF THE APES and SCOOBY DOO... Planet I'm dying to see... Scooby Doo, I'm dreading like going to a doctor to be treated for an urinary infection. Did you see Mr Prinze's hair while doing the junket junk for HEAD OVER HEELS? That blonde hair on him looked ridiculous. BAD! Way BAD! Well... here's the latest...

Dear Harry,

I run the Action/Adventure Movies channel for About.com and I think two of my latest stories would be of interest to you. The latest is a scoop on the sets and locations for the Scooby Doo movie:

"Scooby Doo is the next classic TV show to get the big screen treatment, and early details about the sets and costumes have surfaced. At the 2001 Locations Expo, Lynne Benzie, representative of Warner Brothers Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland, suggested that the types of locations used and the types of sets built suggest remain faithful to the tone of the cartoon.

"They're building a castle," Benzie said. "It's based on an old-time theme park where they go into these sections so we've got a spooky house, the castle and different rides as well. They were filming at Tennesson House, an old power station that's just outside the location of Brisbane and they've been there for two weeks. They're now back into the studios and then they have two weeks on a place called Moreton Island. It's all exterior and they're using a few of the theme parks. We have a water park which they'll be using for a few days.""

The other is a Michael Clarke Duncan interview:

"While doing interviews for his latest film, See Spot Run, Michael Clarke Duncan revealed some details of this Summer's Planet of the Apes remake. Tim Burton directs Mark Wahlberg and Kris Kristofferson as humans and Duncan as the ape warrior Attar.

"It's a lot different [than the original]," Duncan said. "It's not a spin-off. It's totally different because in the original Planet of the Apes they had a lot of guns. We don't have any guns. We have really foreign weapons like clubs and stuff of that nature."

Duncan went on to describe two of the action scenes in which he performed. "
