El Cosmico here, this was put up yesterday at Robotech.com...looks like ADV is going to be releasing a favourite old standard on DVD, ROBOTECH.
I have pretty mixed feelings about this series. In terms of Anime purism, it's pretty fucked up, but I have to admit, when I was a kid and didn't know any better, it was one of the first things to get me interested in anime.
Okay, actually, it was probably the paperback book series that got me interested more than the actual animated series, which had fairly poor animation in my opinion, and the added annoyance of Minmei singing. Anyway, even though I have since developed philosophical problems with this series, I still enjoy it on some level, and maybe you do too.
If you're interested, the online store at Robotech.com is taking pre-orders for the DVD at $14.98, and the 2 CD soundtrack at $27.98 (gotta love industry-wide CD price fixing...). So, if you're a fan, or just oddly interested, get on over and give it all a look.

Volume 1, titled "First Contact" contains six complete episodes, including Boobytrap, Countdown, Space Fold, The Long Wait, Transformation, and Blitzkrieg. These thrilling opening chapters of the Robotech epic recount the legend behind the mysterious arrival of Robotechnology to earth and introduce the cherished characters of the Macross saga.
ROBOTECH PERFECT SOUNDTRACK ALBUM: This special 2-disc anniversary edition contains a comprehensive collection of the unforgettable musical themes by composer Ulpio Minucci along with the vocals of Lynn Minmay and Yellow Dancer. Also included are special tracks from Robotech: The Sentinels and the single "In My Heart" by Three Dog Night from Robotech: The Untold Story.
Pricing and date of availability of the DVD's have yet to be determined.
