Greetings, Fest Junkies! ROBOGEEK here with an alert to all our geek irregulars in Texas - specifically those of you within driving distance of the sprawling metroplex of Bryan / College Station (home of Texas A&M and the Fightin' Texas Aggies!).
That's where the ever-fun (and entirely student-run) Texas Film Festival is currently underway, and where you should seriously consider taking a road trip to today. Why? Well, for starters, none other than Lloyd Kaufman and the entire Troma team will be there, spreading love and joy.
Lloyd will address the fest at 9pm - and introduce the mind-altering double-feature of TERROR FIRMER (10pm) and CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL (midnight). I ask you, how can you possibly resist the temptation? Hell, there's a damn good chance El Cosmico will drag my Robo-butt up there to join the party.
But wait, there's more! The Texas Film Fest has two cool shorts programs this afternoon and Sunday afternoon, as well as a fist-full of indie features throughout the weekend - not to mention the Best of the Golden Shower Video Festival (it's not what you think, honest!). On top of everything, tickets are so cheap they're practically free - and the fest is run by an incredibly cool group of students this year (as it was last year).
