I can't believe I'm actually posting news on HALLOWEEN 8. More importantly, I can't believe they're making a HALLOWEEN 8. Last week, when I visited the scoring session of GHOSTS OF MARS with both Harrys, Lime and Knowles, I spent most of the time there praying that as John Carpenter sat at the keyboard, he would idly play even a bar of the HALLOWEEN theme. It's one of my all-time favorite pieces of film music, and I adore the original film. I watch it often, and I remain impressed by just how controlled a piece of work it is.
I've been hearing vague rumblings about the new sequel for a while now, but I was praying it was all just talk. Now BOSSHOG has sent me rock-solid confirmation about the film and the shape (no pun intended) that it's starting to take.

Seriously. That's really the title. You can thank the writer, Larry Brand, and director Whitney Ransick for that particular bit of genius. Somehow they've coerced Jamie Lee Curtis into returning for a cameo as Laurie Strode, but she will NOT be the focus of this film. Instead, the film is described thusly:
"During a live webcast, six college students enter the childhood home of Michael Myers, only to get a nasty surprise when the notorious killer, believed dead, makes a guest appearance..."
Oh, God... make them stop. Please?
