OCEAN'S 11 Open Casting Call in Florida! Get up close to Brad Pitt, George Clooney and other coolness!

Father Geek here with some ultimate coolness for some of our readers in Florida if they hop right to it. This can be a lot of fun folks... opportunity is knocking on your door... Maybe you should answer its call...

Hey Guys. Don't know if you've heard about this casting call, but it sounds pretty cool to me.

"An open casting call for extras to appear in Warner Bros.' heist-comedy Ocean's Eleven will be held Saturday at ParkSide Mall in Pinellas Park. Casting director Rich King will be shopping for actors outside the entrance to Dillard's department store from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Chosen extras could be sharing a camera with George Clooney, Brad Pitt or Alan Arkin. Those actors are currently scheduled to join director Steven Soderbergh(Traffic) at Derby Lane dog racing track for three days of filming later this month.

The day is this Saturday, February 10 from 10-4. After they pick extras, filming will be held later on this month for 2 to 3 days. Interested people were advised to bring a picture and a pen to the casting call. Hope I've been more helpful this time.

No speaking parts will be cast Saturday, just several hundred people to populate scenes set at a greyhound race and a circus. The latter setting will be accomplished with a big-top tent erected in the race track's parking lot.

Extras will be paid $75 per each 10-hour work day, with up to three days of work available. St. Petersburg/Clearwater film commissioner Jennifer Parramore said Monday that filming is expected to begin locally during the third week of February.

All ages are invited to apply, but Ocean's Eleven filmmakers are especially interested in hiring seniors.

"The screenplay specifically calls for a race track in Florida where a lot of seniors go," Parramore said.

Applicants are requested to bring a small photograph of themselves and a pen or pencil to complete registration forms. There will be no formal auditions, just a fast greeting from King and his assistants who will collect those materials for later reference. Hiring decisions should be quickly known.

Ocean's Eleven is a remake of the 1960 film starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and the rest of the Rat Pack as Army buddies plotting to rob several Las Vegas casinos in a single night.

The film is currently slated to be released Dec. 7."

So that's it. Thought you might like to know. Go ahead and post it so my fellow Floridians can join me in attempting to handcuff themselves to Brad. Hehehe!

BTW, thanks for the awesome site....I visit everyday, and I feel very cool because then I know everything before my friends. So I taunt them with my impressive knowledge. And I am happy. And they cry. And they feel the shame of their un-geeklike ways. Muahahaha. I am an evil herbivore.
