“Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” “Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” “Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” and on that last one a gaping cut into the fabric of blackness on the screen. And this beaming light bursts through.
The words Columbia and Amblin Entertainment coming a whooshing out of the light leaving trails of shadows preceding them. then it’s back to blackness...
“Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” “Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” “Whhhooooouuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh” and another set of words comes out BANDERAS and HOPKINS letters burst forth.
Then it’s back to blackness again....
“FRREEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW FREEEEEEWWWWWWWW FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW” and a Z is carved into the blackness and we cut into footage.
A series of quick cuts of Banderas as Don Diego and Zorro. When Zorro leaps it’s very cat-like with his cape flowing behind him like a phantom or a ghost. There are scenes of fencing and swinging and hacking style. Overall the look of the film is very “Ridley and Tony Scott-ish” ya know. Like pretty colors and all. Looks good. We’ll see.
