Hey folks, Harry here. Here is another sampling of reports from the set of SPIDER-MAN, plus feelings about the monitors and how you can still play some small part in the larger web of things. So again I hand you over to Turd Ferguson....
Well hello again, it's Turd Ferguson, y'know funny name it's funny!! Well sorry for the late delay in getting out my write-up. Yes it's me the PA from the Culver Studios. I would have wrote this up Friday night but Mr. Castle and I had to go out and celebrate (wohoo!!!). So regardless as to what has been said in other write-ups, I will atleast give you my version of what I saw. Well, it seems that Friday was alot of different camera shots. From Spidey's POV to "Bone-Saw's" POV and also Bruce' POV. Alot of repeat dialouge in which now I know what the entire wrestling match is going to be aboot. Oh well, I worked on the Spidey film!!!
So alot of other cool things happened that day. They had the stunt-spider up on a pulley that went horizontal/diagonal across the top of the cage. This was giving the "spider-look" to Chris, the stuntman. At one point, Tobey actually went up to the top to preform one of the stunts in which he mocks "Bone-Saw" with taunts of his wrestling attire, such as "Does that outfit come in a man-size??" or "Nice outfit, did your husband get that for you??", all the while "Bone-Saw" is leaping and grabbing for Maguire.
Alot of other shots were of "Bone-Saw" attacking Spidey with a crowbar, but only to be kicked in the abdomen and face.(Looks like all those years of wrestling are being put to a very special use!). Other foreign objects used were a chair and the steel cage itself. At one point the cage had a huge indentation. Hey, throw a 275+lb guy at anything you're gonna get some sort of result.
Another popular and funny reshoot was when the cage is being brought down, Maguire is looking around at the cage while "Bone-Saw" is hyping up the crowd and jestering to bring the cage down, he runs over the security/heavy who is chaining up the cage and pleads to him that, "This isn't what I signed up for!! I signed up for the 3000 dollars for three minutes, not this, this cage thing!!! Hey, are listening to me!!! Unlock the, the thing!!!" Then "Bone-Saw" yells out to him ,"Hey, freak show!! I got you for three minutes!! Three minutes of playtime!!!YEARRGGHHHH!!" as he charges for Spidey.
Then you figure out the next move (leap). As for others on the set, Mr. Campbell was present, as for Mr. Raimi who I actually at the end of the night met him, or to be specific, shook his hand and just told what a great job he did on something so very special and I look forward to working with him again in March. Mr. Raimi simply replied "Thank you very much, you guys did a great job also, thank you so much.", just a really cool guy.
Oh and here is something that luckly did not get revealed that evening. Leonardo Di Caprio was on the set with his paper-thin supermodel girlfriend along side or should I say practically on top of him. It seems that the two buds had a smoke break together and then Leo tagged along into the studio, incognitio of course. He had a fishermans hat on with the brim hiding his eyes, and looked like he just had full-day feast at Jack in the Box, boy got big!!! He was hidden behind one of the vacant bleachers and myself and two other set workers happened to notice him from not to far of a distance, 15 feet or so. Enough of that, anyway. But I can't imagine the frenzy that would have took place if word of that got out!!! Teenage frenzy!!!! Whoa!!
So, most of the action that took place on Friday was just alot of re-shoots and different angles but alot more recording of dialogue. So other than that, I gotta tell you that Tobey is a cool kid too, I actually got a hello and a thanks from him, not that means anything, but he could've been an A-Hole and not said anything. He did thank everyone at the end of the evening and also replied that "You guys did make me real nervous, but I got through it!!" Hey the kids first big studio flick with 1000+ people on the first day with all eyes on him, yeah I be a little anxious too, but he'll do just fine.....
So in conclusion, I have nothing to lie about and everything I stated here is true to the point, regardless of what other ignorant critics have to say, they are just jealous cause they couldn't be part of something so intense and (once again) so very special. Hey, I'm a true Spidey fan, what can I say??!!
So this is Turd Ferguson signing off ( I found this oversized hat out back!! It's funny y'know cause it's bigger than a normal hat!!)
Oh, one more thing!! Here's a little something floating around for you to think about, Tom Berenger...........Frank Castle..........Punisher......Remake......a good remake.....hmmmmmmmhmmmmmmmmhmmm, yeah you saw Platoon and Sniper......the info is out there you just gotta grab it!!! So say what you will but don't be suprised!!!
Anyway you all take care and I will catch you on the next Spidey update!!!
Later everyone,
Turd
Hey folks, Harry back, and Aaron here wrote in to tell us of a fun little joking moment that we may or may not ever see... Also he has a link for you to find out how you can take part in the big public SPIDER-MAN vs GREEN GOBLIN fight later on. Read...
Harry, just got back from L.A. and being in the Spidey shoot. Just wanted to let you know (if someone hadn't already) that there is going to be another scene shooting for Spidey in March that involves the Green Goblin and Spidey fighting it out in Time Square and about 1,700 extras are needed they said. Get more info next Wednesday on TVtix.Com
Also, side note, my friend Bo got pulled out of the crowd to do a second unit shot of when Spiderman is signing up for the wrestling match. He gets to carry cable around in the background (guess he's a tech)... I watched the scene and it was pretty funny because Peter Parker is trying to sign up for the 3 minutes for 3 thousand match with Bone Saw and they tell him "sorry kid, no featherweights here" but he is persistant and signs up anyway. Randy Savage's wife is in this scene (along with my friend Bo carrying the cable) and also a HUGE 7 foot tall dude dressed up like Xena the warrior princess that comes up after Spidey signs up and slams down his hands on the table making the Xena warrior call (you can't see his face on the monitor, just this huge, harry version of Xena... pretty funny inside joke for Raimi fans.
Best,
Aaron
Alright, now here is the view of an extra that shared the view of Sam Raimi... His eyes fixed upon the monitors studying and taking in the colors and hues and angles and action...
Hay Harry, first timer here with some great news on the up-coming SPIDERMAN flick.
Like everyone else i signed a disclosurement with sony so just call me THE WEBSLINGER. Anyways like thousands of others i was an extra on the SPIDERMAN set both on the 17th and 18th.
But what i havent heard anyone mention is that sam raimi had 4 monitors while he sat down and went over what was going on,if you were anywhere behind him you could actually see the playbacks on the monitors and how the film actually looks on camera.
Lucky me i was actually one of the lucky ones. All i half to say is FUCK THIS FILMS GONNA ROCK!,the way the lighting is set up theres subliminal blues and reds {thats the best way to describe it} to give it a 100% spiderman look and feel. The playbacks themselves are truley amazing,i just hope they do a special 3 disc dvd-set on the movie and one of those discs being playbacks.Bruce campbells a GOD and sam raimi better get an oscar for best director, this is every geekboys dream come true.Every spiderman fans gonna cream there pants come may 3rd 2002.Im outta here....
