Frasier

Will & Grace

Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV

Greg Kinnear and Reese Witherspoon are presenting this one. I haven't seen any of these but FAIL SAFE, which I dug like hell. So I'm rooting for that, but I can say I shouldn't be a judge cuz I haven't seen the others. Kinda weird that ON THE BEACH and FAILSAFE are both nominated here.

Nominees:

Fail Safe

For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story

Nuremberg (mini)

On the Beach

The DeMille Award - AL PACINO, Kevin Spacey is presenting the award to Al Pacino.... Now for the clips.... Ah.... THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK - Wow haven't seen that film in years... Great scene. Then... THE GODFATHER... Ahhh, the dinner scene.... he's returned from the bathroom.... what a scene... Oh man, little moments, the eyes... Watching all watch the scene... no reaction.... Kissing Fredo from GODFATHER II... I know it was you.... Ouch.... Again, very strange distance in Al as he watches. Hmmm, GODFATHER III, the Confession scene... Pacino is watching this scene more intently, then becomes aware that the camera is in him. DOG DAY AFTERNOON - oh man.... great.... SERPICO but over his shoulder Ed Zwick is entertained like you wouldn't believe... smiling like hell. Scent of the Woman tango music overlaying a montage of his career, the highlights. AMAZING... Whatta guy! "It's such a special night, um and ya um.. ya'd think I'da figured out the mike!" heheheh When he was a boy... Blanche Broadstein asked that she read the psalms in church each week... Oh god, I'm crying... this is the birth... what made him an actor... Then he met Charles Laughton (Charlie), wow.... I've never heard this. Laughton took Pacino under his wing. Marty Bregman 'gave me my career' Francis Coppolla 'heh, well heh" Lee Strasberg, his agent.... "I feel lucky, I feel like I'm lucky." The entire room is utterly entranced... God, this is why you give this guy an award... this is the best performance on TV this year.... He's thinking outloud. Wow... FASCINATING.
