First Picture of SPIDER-MAN online... kinda + from CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON to THE INCREDIBLE HULK!!!

Alright so I leave the computer today to check out a screening of SERIES 7: THE CONTENDER.... see a damn fine satire, set up a topy secret thing for tonight that I find is truly really cool... I come home only to find out that Nick over at CHUD has landed the big tamale of scoops!!! THE SPIDER-MAN COSTUME

Now before you rush over to CHUD, you need to know that because I'm way delayed on this... it is already gone. You see, CHUD put it up, the word spread... SONY heard, they (ahem) requested that he take it down for a day or so, just so Entertainment Weekly can get their exclusive that they bargained for. BUT Entertainment Weekly has rushed things, and right now at Entertainment Weekly's Website they have a small version of the pic, which I believe will be bigger tomorrow on their site and CHUD and everywhere else I imagine. I've seen the big pic, as everyone and their brother has sent it to me now, and folks... I really like it.

It is the classic Red and Blue Spiderman Design.... black around slightly bulbish white eyepieces... What is different? The blue has a pebbled almost reptilian texture seemingly on it. And the lines or the webbing design on the costume is raised... like that plastic-y gunk you can write on clothes with. Initially it struck me as odd, but the more I look at it, the more I believe that Peter Parker made this thing. I buy it. It is far more faithful to the classic Spider-Man costume than the Tim Burton BATMAN, but not the exact faithful look of the Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN.... but seeing the black rim around the eye-pieces and that white center.... GREAT. I'm just so glad it isn't the BLACK Spider-man costume... I can look at this design and say.... That is Spider-Man without putting the question mark after it.

Meanwhile, ANG LEE has signed on to direct THE INCREDIBLE HULK according to Hollywood Reporter, and I just got off the phone with someone close to Ang Lee, who tells me that Ang will be finalizing the Banner casting at the GOLDEN GLOBES (or so he hears).... so stay tuned, interesting Marvel day eh?
