Father Geek here with an update for Euro-AICN readers from our very own Ozymandias in Dublin...
Oz here... There is truly no more glorious feeling than opening up me mailbox of a morning to find a juicy morsel there from one of the scattered millions around Europe that do our evil, deathly, satani..... Eh, I mean "movie spying" for us!!!!!
Hey Oz, how'bout ye?
The Eurotastic casting for "Blade 2" continues with the announcement at the official Red Dwarf site , that Danny John Jules, better known to Dwarf fans as "Cat", will be joining Wesley and co for Guillermo Del Torro's Vamp Sequel. I am mucho happy about this. Any Dwarf fan can testify to Jules's ability to sport a pair of fangs and "Look Gooooood". In Red Dwarf news, according to Robert (Kryten) Llewelyn's website (www.llew.co.uk) Shooting is expected to start on the $60 Million movie in May 2001, for an Easter 2002 release. I can't wait, and I'll be quite cross if Mr Flibble isn't in it...
Havea great 20HAL01

Also our guy in Italia Robert has the skinny on the new Dario Argento movie:
Hi Ozy.
We have the review in english at: Our Site
I'm sorry, but this latest movie by Dario Argento confirms his lack of inspiration. I know that in every part of the earth (not just in Italy) there are many fans of his masterpieces (as Deep Red, Suspiria and Phenomena) who looked forward to see this film. It's a total disappointment, mostly because i really believed that Argento could make a great movie. What a pity...

And Empire Online http://www.empireonline.co.uk have the divine Angelina talking about Tomb Raider 2 & 3:
While it's long been assumed that Angelina Jolie will play Lara Croft in the planned two sequels to Tomb Raider, so far the actress herself hasn't commented on the rumours. That is until she spoke to Empire magazine this month (February 2001).
'Quite a few of us are signed up for two more,' Jolie told Empire's roving set reporter, going on to explain why the film is ripe for franchise. 'Lara's like James Bond and a dirty Indiana Jones. Oh and absolutely a woman. I doubt you'll forget that.
As for whether Billy Bob will be asking to don the Lara costume on her own time, Anglina scotched the notion saying; 'Well he sees me running about naked. So I don't think the shorts do that much for him.'
Read the rest of the interview with Angelina which took play on the film's set at Pinewood, in this month's Empire magazine.
And fancy being in Brad Pitt's new movie????? Empire have schtuff on that too:
Empire Online has just learned about a job that for a large proportion of the female population, would be a dream come true. Tony Scott - brother of Ridley - is looking for extras (both male and female) to star in his movie The Spy Game, starring Brad Pitt and Robert Redford. The only condition you need to meet is that you're aged between 20 and 55. Oh, and you have to be American.
The production, which filmed scenes in London and Oxford in the months before Christmas, will return to the UK for most of February, with shoots taking place on location in and around London and at Shepperton Studios. The extras need to be American as the scenes in question purport to take place in the States.
For more information, call Rob Martin at The Casting Collective on 020 8962 0099 or email him at rob@castingcollective.co.uk. A casting call will be held at the company's London offices on the afternoon of 15 January 2001.
This one from one of our eagle eyed UK tipsters checking out the Big Breakfast (wait til you UK kids get a load of Amanda Byram, the impossibly gorgeous Irish girl who's one of the new presenters!!!!! Grrrrrrr......):
Howdy
Rachel Weiss was on the Big Breakfast this morning to promote her (crap) new film Beautiful Creatures. However, one of the Big Breakfast co-hosts is Donna Air who has a part in the Mummy sequel. Rachel revealed that she didn't have any scenes with Donna but John Hannah did. Apparently Donna plays some kind of showgirl in a bar whom gets talking to John Hannah's character. Thought that the info might be useful to someone.
