Hey folks, Harry here... JoBlo dropped me a letter saying he found links to the new ROLLERBALL trailer, problem is... they are terrible ASX (pronounced ah-sux) format with hissing and popping.... Unless the trailer has an AMAZING soundtrack though... it is alos not very motivating. I do want to clarify something though.... I dearly want this movie to be good. John McTiernan is a very very wonderful director.... But the choices he's made since coming on to the project... throwing out the original script (which was fantastic) for a far far far more homogenized generic run-of-the-mill script.... Casting CHRIS KLEIN as Jonathan.... Getting rid of the corporate society motif of the first film, almost entirely. The design and look of the film from every picture and now video just screams cheezeball crap. I LOVE THE ORIGINAL FILM, but hold that it could be vastly improved upon.... That original draft was the improvement, I'm glad I read it... and whatever comes of ROLLERBALL, no matter what has happened, I still have my DVD and 16mm Scope version of the original. Check out the new trailer....
Hey folks, Harry here. The French Premiere site has just added a bunch of new ROLLERBALL pictures and ya know what? GOD THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE!!! I mean, just looking at the rink and the outfits... It just looks terrible. The designs are over-designed... and it just looks nasty. Think about the sports world.... this looks like AMERICAN GLADIATORS... there's a reason why it never took off.... 1 it wasn't a real sport... and 2... the outfits looked terrible... This looks the same. and what is up with the striped rink? The action MAY be cool as hell here... but the design for the look of the film, from what I've seen blows.... and the script they went with was pretty terrible too. My level of curiousity on this film is kinda like going to see a train wreck.... Go check out the other pics and see how much worse it gets. Ugh....
