Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Luca Guadagnino is having a hell of a run right now. After the fest hits A Bigger Splash and Call Me By Your Name, Guadagnino took a high profile remake (Suspiria) and now has a big thriller on the horizon with a couple A-listers in talks to star and produce.
Deadline has the scoop on this Untitled Thriller, written by Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight. They say that Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal are in serious talks to join this project, which is so secretive it doesn't even have a title yet! The only info in the Deadline piece is that one of the co-leads is a businessman and the other a reporter and are old friends.
So, now the only thing we really have to go on is the cast and creative team behind the movie, which are both promising. Gyllenhaal in particular has been picking really interesting things over the last four or five years. If he's smelling another Nightcrawler or Enemy or Prisoners here that makes me perk up.
