Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Jeremy Renner's an interesting cat. He's been using his Marvel money to invest in Hollywood real estate (I read a fascinating article about how he bought Preston Sturges' old house, remodeled and flipped it for a shit ton of money) and he's been quietly entering major franchises left and right.
Now it looks like he's taking center stage as one of the old west's most iconic figures: Doc Holliday. Now, ol' Doc isn't new to the film world. Kirk Douglas and Val Kilmer both turned in memorible performances as the gunslinger over the years.
Usually, Holliday is never the focus, instead playing second fiddle to Wyatt Earp in a retelling of the famous gunfight at the OK Corral (with the noteable exception of 1971's Doc, featuring Stacey Keach in the title role). This film looks to be focused on the dentist turned lead-slinger.
Renner and Don Handfield will produce this tale alongside Palmstar Media, adapting Mary Doria Russell's in-depth books on the man behind the legend.
