Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. A piece of me will always mourn the possibility of seeing Michael Shannon playing Cable in a Deadpool movie, but you can't deny that casting Josh Brolin in the part isn't about as perfect as perfect can be.
THR got the scoop and says Brolin beat out Shannon and Stranger Things' David Harbour for the part and that he's signed a four movie deal in the process.
Comic fans will know that Cable and Deadpool go together like chocolate and frozen banana. One's a self-referential smart-ass, the other is a dead serious soldier from a post-apocalyptic future. That particular yin and yang saw these characters get their own run of comics as a duo and now it looks like the feature films will keep this going.
All I can say is that there better be a frozen banana joke in the movie somewhere or there'll be hell to pay.
