Brett Ratner's RatPac to make a Hugh Hefner biopic!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Deadline reports that Brett Ratner's RatPack is moving forward with a Hugh Hefner biopic, a story Ratner has been pursuing for many years.

The movie would tell the tale of Hefner's early years kickstarting the sexual revolution with his iconic magazine despite his very conservative religious upbringing.

RatPac has been involved with damn near every movie that sees release, but this one is definitely more personal to Ratner. He's been chasing this story through many different iterations as different studios acquired and then lost the rights to tell Hefner's story. Now, as producer, it seems he'll finally get the chance to do it.

Deadline is quick to point out that Ratner is only on as producer right now, but I'd be flat out shocked if he doesn't actually direct this when the time finally comes. RatPac is out to screenwriters right now.

Lots of great material in here if handled correctly. Hefner is a flawed person, but fascinating in his flaws. He was a contradiction in terms of social progress (a high profile civil rights warrior that made his fortune objectifying women), but that's what makes him so damn interesting.

Thoughts?
