Hey folks, Harry here... THE OSIRIS CHILD: SCIENCE FICTION VOLUME ONE first appeared as a title I could see at last year's FANTASTIC FEST. I'm a huge fan of Indie Foreign Sci Fi. Low budget sci fi is another favorite thing. Then there's the fact it is just an Australian sci fi film - and any country that makes TIMTAM cookies while simultaneously living with a billion deadly critters creeping and crawling about - and then they decide... Australia looks like an Alien planet - and they put together some sets, some costumes, some actors... and in 2016, low budget VFX can be... pretty fucking cool. And you'll see shots in this that will make you go... HMMMMMMM... and you'll see a practical critter in the trailer... well, part of it. It's like some critter that escaped from the Dark Crystal and decided it wanted to eat people - and there's alot of them. The film isn't in the A-Sci-Fi realm, but it's firmly in the realm of fun Drive In funky Sci Fi - and that's a place I can spend a lot of time - and I know if a bunch of you are honest with yourselves, you'll agree.
The title - well, I can't really explain the title. Why this isn't just... THE OSIRIS CHILD, I've no clue. The film is set to open shortly in Australia - with no current distribution in the United States, but those of you down under. Grab some friends, enjoy some brews and go check this out - and have fun with it. There's some fun to be had, for sure.
Keep it cool,
Harry
