Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Arnold Schwarzenegger's more recent films have been pretty hit or miss. I don't think it's out of line to say he's been floundering a bit in both his big budget and small budget choices. Terminator feels like it has more than run its course as a franchise and his smaller parts in Stallone's action flicks have been okay. I couldn't get through Maggie, but still appreciate the fact that Schwarzenegger switched gears into more dramatic territory.
So, when I say that Aftermath looks like the best Schwarzenegger movie in a while know it's coming from a place of love for the dude's screen presence. I grew up with his stuff, the good, the bad, the cheesy, the awesome.
Aftermath is another journey into the dramatic for Arnie. It seems to be a pretty serious tale of a man out for revenge, but not in a flashy over the top action way. It doesn't seem like his character is out for blood so much as he's out for someone to take responsibility for the tragedy that impacted his life.
Check out the trailer here:
I like his instincts here and hope this movie is as good as the trailer promises it to be. What do you guys think?
